Finnish Environment Institute's Jyväskylä office was founded in 2007. Our current staff belongs to different sections of the Freshwater Centre as well as to the Research and Innovation Laboratory. We cooperate closely with different branches within Syke and also with many departments of the University of Jyväskylä as well as other and foreign universities. Research in the Jyväskylä Office is focused on the links between chemical, physical and ecological processes in aquatic environments.
Our works encompasses the development of water quality monitoring, biomonitoring and modeling as well as assesses the accumulation and cycling of harmful substances and nutrients in aquatic enviroments, impacts of human landuse practice and restoration. In addition, we develop new modeling and measuring applications. On our pages you will find links to our ongoing projects and contact information of the researchers in charge.
