Marine ecological preparedness plan of oil accidents (ÖVA)

A national preparedness plan is compiled in the project to assess the marine ecological effects of oil accidents. The preparedness plan will become valid, if an oil accident occurs within Finnish waters. The working group will compile a well-defined guideline on:

1) ecological sampling and analytics following an oil accident

2) a national functional chain concerning the impact studies and

3) detection of characteristics and distribution of oil compounds.

The report will be published in SYKE reports series and as far as applicable in SYKE's situation awareness system for environmental emergency response (BORIS).
